The Michelin Guide's review
Angoulême's historic city is best explored by walking all the way around it. The north is riddled by narrow streets, whereas the south is depicted by wide avenues lined with aristocratic façades. While strolling through the area, head towards Saint Peter's Cathedral to admire its Poitevin façade, then stop in at the Museum of Angoulême and admire the African and Oceanic Art collection.
