An important example of early Renaissance in France, Hôtel Pincé is now home to an art museum. Based on the Ancient art collections of Turpin-de-Crissé (1782-1859), an artist from Angers and chamberlain to Empress Josephine, exhibits include Greek and Etruscan vases, and Egyptian, Chinese and Japanese artefacts, among which a set of engravings by Hiroshige, The Tôkaidô Road.
