The Michelin Guide's review
The source of much of the water supplying Western Europe's greatest rivers (the Rhine and the Rhône), the St-Gothard massif has at Andermatt four major crossings comprising of Switzerland's two greatest longitudinal valleys (the Rhine and the Rhône), and two greatest transversal valleys (the Reuss and the Tessin). The name also applies to a pass and a succession of sites against fine mountain backdrops - its summits, all around 3 000m, are universally imposing.
