Fortress of Sondor
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
The mythical fortress of Sondor was one of the main bastions of the Chanka nation, which during the pre-Columbian era, covered almost all the central Andes. It is a colossal pyramid comprised of several stone platforms. A huge staircase links the various levels up to the top. At the foot of the pyramid at the entrance to the site, several thatched roof stone buildings (reconstituted) date from the Inca rule.
