The Michelin Guide's review
Built in 1815 by his son, the cenotaph of Maharaja Bakhtawar Singh is also known as the Rani Mausi ki Chhatri, in honour of the widow who sacrificed herself on her husband's funeral pyre. The red sandstone of the ground floor, which is studded with small domed pavilions, provides an attractive contrast with the white marble of the upper floor. The elegant ribbed dome has retained some of the paintings on its base (horsemen and camels, blue and gold geometric motifs) as well as some beautiful sculptures.
