The Michelin Guide's review
The Vale of Rheidol Valley Light Railway takes tourists from Aberystwyth station to the Mynach waterfalls through the glorious wooded Rheidol Valley. The 19-km trip takes an hour as the train climbs slowly to the terminus at a height of 195 m. The line was built in 1902 to service the valley's lead mines. The original engines and rolling stock are still used.
