The Michelin Guide's review
The island's Welsh name, Môn or Mam Cymru, means "Mother of Wales". To reach its landscape of low undulating hills and beaches, visitors must cross the Menai Straits, ideal for yachting. There are pleasant seaside resorts on the north coast, and also some important heritage sites including Beaumaris, Oriel Ynys Môn Museum and the 18C Plas Newydd, the Marquess of Anglesey's residence set in its 68ha park.
