Atelier Salone, the bistronomy sibling of Villa Salone, is pampered by Alexandre Lechêne, a chef with a stellar CV (Aux Lyonnais, Louis XV in Monaco) and a former Michelin-starred chef in Saint Véran (Hautes Alpes département). On the day of our visit, the menu included wild boar stew, squash gnocchi, quince confit and pear in a red wine, fillet of sea bream, raw and sautéed courgettes, and roast supreme of guinea fowl with green beans and figs. The original style of this early-20C building is underscored by contemporary details.
