Come and taste Real Life or, even better, the Good Life here in Caen at Matthieu Evrard’s establishment. After stints at Taillevent, Akrame and Apicius, the chef is treating Normandy to a vibrant gourmet score. Local mussels are served on a bed of celeriac remoulade, featuring a knock-out coriander and lime mayonnaise or local tataki beef on a salad of red cabbage. The decadent desserts are wickedly tempting – Tahitian vanilla-flavoured millefeuille with butterscotch and vanilla ice cream (for two). Olive green, untreated wood and nature depict the cosy bistro interior.
