The Michelin Guide's review
The painted ceiling of Zillis's church is the only one of its kind in Western Europe. The work, which by its craftmanship reveals the "hand" of the manuscript illuminator, dates back to the second half of the 12C. The 153 square panels are organised into two cycles. The perimeter ones symbolise the Primitive Ocean and the sea of the Apocalypse; the inner ones relate to the life of Christ and scenes of the life of St Martin.
