A Moorish, a medieval Christian and a Catholic King's palace, as well as the seat of the regional government of Aragon, the Aljaferia is a unique monument that spans the centuries. Set in an 11C-park, it is laid out around a rectangular patio, surrounded by porticoes, and decorated with fine tracery and sculpted capitals. The emirs' splendid private mosque and its mihrab have been restored and now do justice to the full creativity of its festooned arches and floral decor.
