The Michelin Guide's review
Felix Romuliana, near the village of Gamzigrad, is a Roman archaeological site and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Excavations have uncovered a huge fortified palace, erected between the late 3C and early 4C AD by Emperor Galerius in honour of his mother. Of what was once a splendid residence, all that remains today is part of the stone and brick wall today, two courtyards with magnificent mosaics and the vestiges of huge towers.
