The Michelin Guide's review
This church is one of Croatia's most famous monuments, and the symbol of Zadar (9C). The building's height and compactness are striking. Fragments of columns, pediments and Roman cornices from the Forum are visible at the base. The circular interior has an ambulatory with six massive pillars and two Roman columns marking the site of the chancel. On the upper level, the gallery follows a similar layout. The apses have cul-de-four vaults, and the central rotunda is covered by a roof structure.
