The Michelin Guide's review
The Church of Santo Domingo dominates the square of the same name, built on the hillside. Completed in 1749, the town's second church fell into the hands of the Dominicans after the expulsion of the Jesuits in 1767. Enjoy the Baroque portal and its eight gold-leaf wooden reredos, including one dedicated to the Virgen de Guadalupe. The octagonal sacristy is decorated with eight paintings by Francisco Martínez.
