Youghal Walls

The Michelin Guide's review
Youghal possess the best-preserved town walls in Ireland, longer even than those of Londonderry. They were built in the 13C and extended in the 17C. Some important sections are still in excellent condition, though only three of the 13 medieval towers remain. The sentry walk provides a fine view of the town and the harbour. The full length of the walls is best seen from Raheen Road at the rear.
