Sultanhani caravanserai (between Konya and Aksaray)

 Michelin Guide
 Well worth the diversions
Civil and military monument
  The Michelin Guide's review
Head through the portal flanked by small turrets, then make your way up the staircase adorned with strange gargoyles which leads to the roof of this caravanserai. This is Sultanhani (early 13C), one of the largest caravanserais along the trade route from the East to Konya, once capital of the kingdom. This delightful building is home to a simple mosque and a huge, cubic-shaped communal room lined with galleries.
