The Michelin Guide's review
Protected by high crenelated walls which surround the atrium, this monastery dedicated to St John the Baptist is a large, solid structure as is typical of this kind of building. On the church façade, admire the elegant Gothic rose window surrounded by heads of cherubs, which looks a little anachronistic above the Plateresque-style doorway. The interior decoration shows native influence, especially the font where the jaguars carved by locals are typical of the Tequitqui style.
