The Michelin Guide's review
The Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, built in the 7C, honours the Buddhist monk Xuan Zang, who brought Buddhist scriptures from India to China further to an epic journey. Climbing up the 64m of stairs, you can visit the study rooms on each floor. At the top, there is a panoramic view of Xi'an. A museum dedicated to Xuanzang, where his desk with its ceiling decorated with a thousand Buddhas, has a wealth of books.
