Temple of the Eight Immortals
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
A Taoist place of worship since the 10C, the date of its construction under the Song dynasty, the Temple of the Eight Immortals has been extended over the centuries. The complex has retained its rich decor, with elegant calligraphies of Taoist writings covering the walls; the first pavilion, to the north, boasts some of the richest decoration. The atmosphere here is one of contemplation and contrasts with the lively nature of improvised flea and antiques markets held every day on stalls and on the ground as you exit the temple complex.
