The Michelin Guide's review
This national historic site centers on a meticulously preserved, art-filled Queen Anne-style mansion and the conservation efforts of three of its residents: 19C environmentalist George Perkins Marsh; Frederick Billings, founder of Billings Farm; and Billings' granddaughter Mary French Rockefeller. American landscape paintings by Thomas Cole, Albert Bierstadt and Asher B. Durand deck the sumptuous interior of the house.
