The Michelin Guide's review
Wilderness National Park is composed of rivers, estuaries, lakes, marshes, beaches and primary forests. This protected wetland area of over 2 500ha in the heart of the spectacular Garden Route, between the seaside resort of Wilderness and Sedgefield, is host to exceptionally rich flora and fauna. You might even be lucky enough to see a gorgeous green and blue knysna turaco bird. The Kingfisher Trail, ideal for hiking and biking, crisscrosses the park, which can also be explored in a canoe on its waterways.
