The Michelin Guide's review
This elegant columned structure resembling a triumphal arch has a projecting central section with the imperial eagle perched on top. It was built to commemorate the Battle of Kolin (1757, Seven Years War), which saw Maria Theresa's troops achieve a spectacular victory over Frederick II's Prussian troops. From the roof terrace, you can take in a lovely view of Schönbrunn and the west of Vienna.
