Hofburg : Treasury Room
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
The existence of a treasure is recorded in the Hofburg as early as the 14C. In 1747, Maria Theresa had it installed in some of the palace's rooms, and the allotted space subsequently grew to acommodate an increasing collection. The statues, paintings, canvases and other objects that used to belong to the treasure are now in the Fine Arts Museum (Kunsthistorisches Museum). The imperial treasure presented here is divided into mementoes, sacred relics and the Habsburg royal insignias.
