The Michelin Guide's review
This ornate white mansion (1859) on the Mississippi now operates as a bed & breakfast. Designed by Henry Howard for sugarcane planter John Hampden Randolph and his family, the 16 000m2 house boasts 64 elegantly appointed rooms. The sumptuous ballroom features Corinthian columns and curved windowpanes and shutters. From the upstairs gallery, a lovely view sweeps over the levee and the Mississippi.
