The Michelin Guide's review
At the tip of Lake Seneca, Watkins Glen State Park is a spectacular glen. The 2.4km hike into the narrow gorge goes up 832 steps and over 200m in elevation alongside Glen Creek, which rushes down along numerous crystal-clear plunge pools and waterfalls. For the return trip, climb the steep staircase and head along one of the upper trails. The 26m suspension bridge that crosses the gorge and connects the Indian trail and South Rim trail offers a superb view.
