This is the building in which members of the public are received when they come to the Library of Congress, the world's largest library. The Jefferson Building Grand Hall is renowned for the beauty of its gilt ceilings and vaulted corridors. The treasures archived here include a precious illuminated manuscript of the Giant Bible of Mainz (mid-15C).
