The Michelin Guide's review
This mansion resembling a Mannerist palazzo was built in the early 20C. Commissioned by the Chicago socialite Mrs Robert Patterson, this opulent residence was the setting for lavish entertaining. The Pattersons' eldest daughter, Cissy (1884-1948), took on the role of the capital's premier hostess throughout the 1930s and early 1940s. Luxury apartments now occupy the premises.
