This gigantic 230m-high grey tower, visible from 30km away, stands in the heart of the city centre. "A gift from the Soviet Nation to the Polish Nation," it was built in the 1950s and today encompasses three theatres, a multiplex cinema, a 3 000-seat conference hall, swimming pool, two museums, bars, clubs and a host of official bodies. From the 30th floor, there is an amazing panoramic view of the whole Polish capital.
