The Michelin Guide's review
Monsignor Mario Guarnacci donated this rich Etruscan archaeological collection to the town. Arranged either chronologically or according to themes, the exhibits range from the Villanovan period (8C BC) to the Hellenistic period (4C to the 1C), a period of creativity which included funerary urns in tufa, alabaster and, occasionally, terracotta. Also of interest is the famous statuette that Gabriele D'Annunzio christened "Ombra della Sera" (Evening shadow).
