  The Michelin Guide's review
This vast valley, where the Vipava River flows, is one of Slovenia's most famous wine-growing regions, between the Karst to the west and Mt Nanos, whose rock-crowned peaks rise to 700m. The small town of Vipava is the heart of this valley. You will admire the spectacular resurgence of the river, as well as a miniature old town from the 12C-18C, the Church of St Stephen with vaults painted in the 18C, and the Baroque manor house of the Counts Lanthieri (1762).
