Château de Puyguilhem
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
This early Renaissance edifice certainly brings to mind the architecture of the Val de Loire. Puyguilhem is proof that the cultural currents of the early 16C emanating from distant Italy reached Périgord. Inside, finely carved hearthplaces embellish the rooms. Also note the carved main staircase, on the 2nd floor, the Great Hall's chestnut beams and the parapet walk offering fine views of the roof structure.
