The Michelin Guide's review
The tour of the Parque Museo de La Venta, an open-air "museum" of Olmec relics, begins with la Palapa, a small introductory museum set up under a thatched palm roof. Most of the sculptures are copies, but a large model of La Venta shows where the stones were originally placed. Then a 1km marked trail with stops at regular intervals gives you a chance to admire the forty or so works scattered throughout the greenery. Craft shops and the jaguar pen at the halfway point divide the tour into two parts.
