The Michelin Guide's review
The castle and the ramparts built at the end of 13C by King Dinis were reinforced by bastions in the 17C. The crenellated walls, flanked by towers, still encircle an old town. The narrow streets are bordered by white houses, the lower part of which is painted in bight colours. A small street leads to the Church da Conceição and the pillory from the 16C.
