The Michelin Guide's review
Located along the River Côa, close to its confluence with the Douro, in a spectacular and isolated natural setting, the Côa Valley Archaeological Park was created to safeguard one of the world's most important open-air sites for Palaeolithic rock art. Spread over several sites, these carved rocks form a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Round off the visit, during which you get to see only some of the engravings, with a look around the Côa Mseum.
