Setting out from the Básar Huts in Þórsmörk Nature Reserve, a circuit (12km, approximately 4hr, suitable all levels) joins Stakkholtsgjá Canyon via Hvannárgil gorges. The first of these dark, narrow gorges, covered with moss and ferns, culminates in a fine waterfall.
