The Michelin Guide's review
This woodland is unique in the Puglia region. It is a vast forest of beech, maple, pine, oak, and sweet chestnut trees, as well as some very old yew trees, which covers 11 000ha of valleys. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2017 thanks to its rich flora and fauna, the forest is home to more than 60 varieties of orchids, as well as roe deer and birds of prey. It is well maintained and offers numerous attractions for visitors.
