This 30km² nature reserve unfolds over the highest part of Mahé Island and is home to practically all the Seychelles' endemic plants of (ironwood, jellyfish tree...). The winding Sans Souci Road (or Black Forest Road) runs through the reserve, commanding fine vistas over the lagoon and the islands. Pause at the Tea Factory, to learn about the cultivation of tea leaves, introduced to the archipelago by an English settler in 1962, and the Mission Lodge, a former school built in the 19C by Anglican missionaries.
