The Michelin Guide's review
Created in 1901 as a garden in which to acclimatise exotic plants, the botanical garden is now home to around 20 different species of endemic and native trees. As you stroll along the marked paths in pleasantly cool temperatures, you'll pass palm trees, fruit trees with colourful flowers and orchids. You'll also see giant Aldabra tortoises, flying foxes (large bats), kestrels and turtledoves from Madagascar.
