Seychelles Natural History Museum
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
The entrance to the museum is framed by a Seychelles crocodile (a species that became extinct in the early 19C) and a sea-cow (or manatee), in stone. Inside, stuffed Aldabra giant tortoises greet you, alongside fine specimens of coco de mer, or sea coconut, shells, insects and butterflies, marine life and coral. Also a geology section and, upstairs, the pretty paintings of English artist Marianne North (1830-1890).
