The Michelin Guide's review
Situated in a wild gorge of the upper Bagnes Valley, this dam (alt. 1,961m at the top) is one of the world's highest "vaulted" dams (237m). The giant wall retains 180 million cubic metres of water which powers the turbines of the Fionnay and Riddes power stations. Park in the visitors' car park at Mauvoisin (between the hotel and the dam) and continue on foot to the top of the dam.
