The Zócalo stands in the heart of the city, as is the tradition. Surrounded by the cathedral, the Palacio Municipal and beautiful arcades, this lively square is best enjoyed in the evening when all the musicians and dancers meet here, to the delight of the onlookers sitting at their sidewalk terraces. You may even be lucky enough to catch a Cuban danzón demonstration!
