Although stripped of the ornamentation from which it derives its name (oro means gold), this delicate, ornate Gothic palazzo is nonetheless stunning, both in terms of its façade and its interior. Skilful restoration work has successfully highlighted the delicate colours, harmonious yet asymmetric marble tracery and the crenellations which crown the building. The palazzo now houses the rich art collection brought together by its last owner, Baron Giorgio Franchetti.
