The Michelin Guide's review
The current church of San Zaccaria was built in the late 15C by Codussi according to the plan for the Church of Saint Michael. Its tall Lombard façade is a Renaissance masterpiece. The spacious interior with its Renaissance nave and Gothic choir is literally smothered in paintings, the most famous of which is the Holy Conversation by Giovanni Bellini (1505). Don't miss the Chapel of Gold, which is the 13C heart of the early Gothic church.
