The Michelin Guide's review
The massive white outline of Varazdin Castle, half-stronghold, half-palace, emerges in the midst of parkland, surrounded by old ramparts. Its irregular outline is depicted by two circular towers dating from the 14C (the oldest section) and a square keep, both of which are linked by buildings. Although the latter are dotted with windows, the overall defensive function remains apparent. The Town Museum is located within its walls.
