The Michelin Guide's review
In the Middle Ages, a ducal castle stood on the site now occupied by the Château de l'Hermine (18C). The Marle River, which flows at the foot of the fortifications erected in the 13C on Gallo-Roman remains and remodelled up until the 17C, the formal gardens and the cathedral in the background compose a scene that has inspired many painters. On the other side of the street, the Garenne walk commands a view of the most picturesque part of Vannes. Not to be missed!
