The Michelin Guide's review
The square, dotted with tearooms and eateries, is a popular meeting place. It is dominated by the Vancouver public library (1995), whose form is strikingly similar to that of the Roman Colosseum. The unusual edifice, flanked by an office tower, is the work of Canadian architect Moshe Safdie and the main section is made out of brown pre-cast concrete. The building boasts over a million books, making it one of the largest libraries of North America.
