The Michelin Guide's review
This exceptional site was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996. Valtice Castle and Lednice Castle were residences of the Liechtenstein family, whom we have to thank for the whole of the estate designed between the 17C and 20C; the landscapes were inspired by English Romanticism. Paths, parks and gardens dotted with architectural pieces embellish some 200km2, which is also a popular bicycle touring spot.
