The Michelin Guide's review
From Désert-en-Valjouffrey, whose barns underline the ongoing rural activity, eminently accessible paths hug the bottom of the U-shaped valley, overlooked by the Aiguille des Marnes (3,046m/9,993ft). Once past the park's barrier, the landscape becomes palpably wilder and the path leads to Pisse waterfall, then to the impressive Font-Turbat cirque, whose rocky scenery is overshadowed by the Pic d'Olan (3,564m/11,693ft).
