This scenic route provides a superb link between the Tarentaise and the Maurienne, from Val d'Isère to Bonneval-sur-Arc. Bridging the valleys, Iseran pass (alt. 2,770m/9,088ft) is legendary among bikers and cyclists and the highest point of the Route des Grandes Alpes. The road is dotted with laybys commanding fantastic views over the Vanoise range and Mont Pourri, Grande Sassière and some of the Maurienne peaks (Ciamarella, Albaron...).
