The Michelin Guide's review
In 1591 the last heir of Ivan the Terrible, the Tsarevich Dmitri, aged 10, died in highly mysterious circumstances in the kremlin of Uglitch. Boris Godunov had sent him into exile here with his mother, far from the throne. Did he have him assassinated? No one knows, but the exhibition on display in the rooms of the palace (1480) revisits this tragic event that marked the beginning of the time of troubles. Craft exhibition also.
